Sanitize Earbuds

Keeping your earbuds clean and sanitized is important to help avoid spreading unwanted bacteria and contamination. Because earbuds are inserted directly into the ear canal, the risk of spreading bacteria is more prominent than other types of headphones. Buds should be wiped off after every use and thoroughly cleaned and sanitized at least once a week. Avoid sharing earbuds with other people.

Instructions

1. Wipe earbuds clean with a clean towel dipped in warm, soapy water. Avoid excess moisture, as this can damage the earbuds.

2. Dip a cotton swab into hydrogen peroxide and apply to the earbud. Apply as little as possible to avoid causing moisture damage.

3. Wait five minutes, giving the hydrogen peroxide time to bubble up and loosen the dirt, debris and ear wax.

4. Brush the earbud clean with an unused toothbrush. This will allow you to remove residue that remains in the small holes and crevices.

5. Wipe the residue from the earbud using a clean towel. Dry thoroughly.
