Switching your Virgin Mobile phone is a relatively simple process to accomplish on your Virgin Mobile Tour account. Virgin Mobile, one of the largest providers of prepaid mobile phones, allows its customers to swap out their phone easily online or over the phone with a representative.
Instructions
Online
1. Visit the Virgin Mobile website (see Resources) and select the option "Activate."
2. Select the option "I am a current customer and I want to swap Virgin Mobile phones." Click the "Next" link.
3. Enter your mobile phone number, followed by your account PIN, Vkey or password. Click the "Continue" button.
4. Remove the battery from your new phone and locate the ESN number. Enter the ESN number into the appropriate field on the Virgin Mobile online activation form.
5. Select the make and model of your device from the drop-down menu, and then select the option to add minutes to your device or set up payment options.
6. Press the "Activate" button.

7. Contact Virgin Mobile at 888-322-1122 and select the option to speak with a live advisor.
8. Inform the representative of your intent to switch mobile phones.
9. Verify your identity and provide the advisor with the ESN number from your new phone. The ESN number is located underneath the battery compartment on your mobile phone.
10. Follow the instructions provided by the representative. Wait for the representative to complete the activation process. Restart your phone, if told to do so.
