Kodak Easyshare Directions

Your Kodak EasyShare camera is more simple to use than cameras of the past.

Operating your Kodak EasyShare digital camera is self-explanatory, but knowing a few tips can help you to become an even better photographer with it. Using the scene setting functions and the share button makes taking pictures and uploading them much simpler. Although EasyShare cameras come in a variety of models, some basic instructions apply to all of them.

Instructions

1. Install the batteries into your camera before the first use. Most EasyShare cameras use AA batteries or a rechargeable battery system. The battery door is typically at the bottom of the camera, and it can be opened by sliding it toward the edge of the camera. If your camera uses rechargeable batteries, you will need to charge the camera before using. The USB cord usually doubles as a cord for your AC adapter. Connect this cord to your camera and charger, and plug it into an AC outlet.

2. Insert the memory card. Many EasyShare cameras do not have internal memory, so the memory card is necessary. The slot for the card can be found in the battery compartment. The card may only be inserted one way, so do not force it or it may break.

3. Set the language and date and time options on your camera. When you turn on your camera for the first time, you should be prompted to do this.

4. Adjust the scene setting for your photography session. If you plan on taking general pictures, the "Auto" mode should be sufficient. However, many cameras have specific modes for sunsets, beach photos, moving subjects and landscapes, among other options. Explore and use the specific scene setting for your photos.

5. Focus and take pictures. By holding down the shutter half way, the camera will automatically focus. To take the picture, hold the shutter button down the entire way and wait for the camera to take the picture. The picture should be automatically shown on the LCD screen on the back of your camera.

6. Adjust settings, if necessary. Although this camera type has the ability to adjust itself to your photo settings, you may use the "Manual" option to adjust your aperture, lens, speed and other options.

7. Review your pictures. By hitting the "Review" button, usually indicated by a triangle that points sideways to the right, you may see the pictures you have taken. Delete any you do not wish to keep by selecting the "Delete" button, indicated by a garbage can. Follow the prompts to delete the photo.

8. Share photos. The name of the camera indicates that sharing with it is easy. Press the "Share" button as you view photos you wish to share with others. As you upload these photos later, they can be shared using Facebook, Twitter and other social networking sites.

9. Upload photos by connecting the camera to your computer with the USB cord included with your camera. Software is included in the box with your camera, as well. The first time you connect your camera to your computer, it will prompt you to install the software. Sometimes the software on the disk in your box is sufficient. Other times, the computer may download more current software from the Internet. Another way to upload photos is by directly inserting your memory card into the memory card slot in your computer.
