Digital Television Converter Installation

With the transition to digital TV came digital-to-analog converter boxes, but not everyone is clear on install them. However, with the right information, installing a converter box is easy.


RF Cable


Installing a digital-to-analog converter box to work with an RF cable antenna input is a simple task. First, disconnect your antenna coax cable and reconnect it to the "RF In" or "Antenna In" input on the converter box. Next, using the supplied cable, connect the "RF Output" on the converter box to your television. Finally, plug the converter box to an outlet, and follow the manufacturer's directions to scan for channels.


Two-wire System








Though a little more involved than a cable system, connecting a two-wire antenna system is an easy task. Disconnect the two antenna wires, connect them to a cable adaptor and connect the adaptor to your converter. Using the supplied cable, connect the "RF Output" on the converter box to your television. Plug the converter box to an outlet, and scan for channels.


VCR








If you want to connect your converter to a VCR, first remove the antenna cable from the VCR and connect it to the converter. Next, use the supplied cable to connect your converter to the VCR. Once finished, plug the converter to a power supply and scan.
