Make Your Own Blackberry Ringtones

Most cell phone providers sell customized ringtones that can be purchased by Blackberry owners. If you don't like any of the ringtones sold by your wireless carrier, or you just want to save some money, you could always choose to make your own Blackberry ringtones. Making your own Blackberry ringtones allows you to determine which ringtones are saved on your phone, and gives you the opportunity to make ringtones that nobody else has. Every Blackberry ringtone you make is also free for you to download and use.

Instructions

1. Create a Myxer account. Click the "Create Myxer Account" link in the Resources section below to begin. Once you do, you will need to enter all of the requested information (such as email address and Blackberry phone number).

2. Sign into your Myxer account after you're registered on the website.

3. Click the "Account" link that is located in the top right corner of the Web page to enter the "My Account" page.

4. Change the phone settings on your Myxer account page. To do this, click the "Phone Details" link found in the left column on the "My Account" page. Click the "Wireless Carrier" link on the next page and choose your cell phone service provider. Users that select "Verizon Wireless" will then need to click the "Phone" drop box and select a specific Blackberry phone. Other users can click the "Update" button once they have selected a wireless carrier.

5. Click "Make Your Own" found in the blue stripe at the top of the Web page. Doing so will direct you to the "Custom Ringtones" page.

6. Click the "Browse" button found in the middle of the "Custom Ringtones" page. You will then be given the option to search through the folders on your computer. Look for and select the song or other file saved on your computer that you plan to convert into a Blackberry ringtone. After you choose the song, click "Upload." A second, smaller window will appear.

7. Type two different numbers into the "Start" and "Length" text boxes located on the right side of the window. Doing so will change how long the Blackberry ringtone will play on your phone. To preview the Blackberry ringtone, you can click the "Play" button on the left side of the window. When you're happy with the Blackberry ringtone, click the "Continue" button. You will then see your phone number in the bottom of the window. Click the "Send to Phone" button located beneath the phone number listed in the window.

8. Wait while the Blackberry ringtone is prepared. When it is ready, you will see a list of instructions listed in the window. These instructions will vary slightly based on which Blackberry you own. Follow these instructions in order to download and save the ringtone to your Blackberry.
