Make A Song Into A Karaoke Track

Karaoke tracks are great materials for singers or anyone looking to sing along to their favorite songs, but it's not always easy to dig up an instrumental version of a track. With Audacity audio editing software, you can easily remove the vocals from certain audio tracks in a few clicks. Many studio recordings can be edited using the following method.

Instructions

1. Launch your web browser and go to the Audacity website linked in the resources section of this article. Download the software.

2. Launch Audacity and left-click on the "Projects" tab. Locate the desired music track among the files on your computer, and select "Import."

3. Select the Track menu by clicking the arrow beside the track title. Choose "Split Stereo Track."

4. Highlight the lower track on the right side of the window. Select "Effects" from the top of the screen and click "Invert."

5. Select the Track menu again and click "Mono." Select "Play" to listen to the track. Once you are happy with it, export the instrumental version, and save it in a separate location.
