Convert a Camcorder Tape to a CD


When you have video recorded on a camcorder tape, it can be converted to a movie file and stored on a CD. A video CD can also be created to use with a DVD player. This process involves recording a movie file on your computer and then using a software program to burn a data or video CD. You can convert the video from a camcorder tape to a CD by first deciding what type of CD that you need.


Instructions


Record a Movie File


1. Connect one end of an RCA audio cable into the audio/video outputs of the camcorder.


2. Connect the other end of the RCA audio able to the audio/video inputs on the TV tuner card.


3. Connect the audio output from the TV tuner to your computer's sound card or on-board audio input.


4. Double click the icon on the desktop for the TV tuner software.


5. Click the "Record" option in the software and then press the "Play" button on the camcorder.


6. Click the "Stop" button in the software to stop the recording.


7. Save the recorded video as an AVI or MPG file to a location on the computer, such as the desktop.


Burn a Data CD


8. Download and install the Free Easy CD DVD Burner program. Save the file to your desktop, and then double click the file to install the program.


9. Double click the Free Easy Burner icon on the desktop and then insert a blank CD into the drive on the computer.


10. Select the Data CD DVD icon at the top and then click the "Add files to project" option on the left under File and Folder Tasks.


11. Locate the AVI or MPG file you saved on your system from the camcorder and click the "Open" button to continue.


12. Click the "Burn" option on the left under Action to burn the movie to a CD.








Burn a Video CD using Nero


13. Double click the Nero SmartStart icon on your desktop and select the Photo and Video icon at the top.


14. Click the option to Make a Video CD, and insert a blank CD into the drive on the computer.


15. Click the "Add Video Files..." option to locate and add the AVI or MPG file that you saved earlier to the project.


16. Click the "Next" button to continue until you get to the Burn Options page.


17.Click the "Burn" button to convert the movie file to a video CD.
