Charge A Panasonic Toughbook

Your AC adapter must be plugged in to charge the Toughbook.

The Panasonic Toughbook is a versatile and damage-resistant laptop designed for use on the road. As the Toughbook is designed to be used on the job, even when work takes you away from a desk, it is important to keep it charged so you have power available while on the go. Toughbook models include a portable power adapter with an extension cord that is used to charge your laptop, or run it from a power outlet once the battery is fully charged.

Instructions

1. Insert the battery. Your Toughbook battery must be inserted in the computer to charge it. If there is no battery visible on the underside of your Toughbook, slide the battery latches to the unlocked position and push your battery in place. Once secure, move the latches to the locked position.

2. Connect the battery charger to the computer using the power port. Next, connect the extension cord to the power pack and plug it into a wall outlet.

3. Check the status of the battery. When logged into Windows, the battery status is shown in the Taskbar, on the lower-right corner of the screen. Monitor the battery, and be sure to let it charge to 100 percent.

4. Disconnect the charger. When the battery on your Toughbook is fully charged, you may unplug the adapter from the computer and run on battery power. Also be sure to unplug the adapter from the wall, otherwise power will be consumed simply by having the adapter plugged in while not connected to your Panasonic Toughbook.
