Fold A Handkerchief

Fold a Handkerchief

Handkerchiefs can be used as an accessory for suits or for personal hygiene. There are a number of different handkerchief folds, each for a different effect: square-ended, puffed, triangular and multipointed fold. Here are a few steps to help you create a variety of hankderchief folds.

Instructions

1. Make a square-ended fold by first folding your handkerchief in half. Then fold in one-third from each side, fold that in half and place it inside your pocket.

2. Create a puffed fold by laying the handkerchief flat and picking it up from the center. Let it droop like a flower, folding up the point to the tips of the open end. Place inside pocket with the "petals" facing out.

3. Lie the handkerchief flat and fold it in half to start a triangular fold. Fold one corner in just past the center, then fold its opposite corner in over it, also just past the center. Fold the bottom point up to the top. Place inside the pocket with the triangle pointing up.

4. Fold a hankerchief in half, point to point, to create an imperfect triangle for a multipointed fold. Along the long edge, take a point and fold it toward the two other points. Then take the remaining point of the long edge and fold it over the other three points, always keeping one end flat. Fold in again from both directions for the six-pointed end. Fold in half and place in the pocket with the six-pointed end facing out.
