Use A Rangefinder Scope

When hunting with a scope, you can see more clearly, aim more specifically, and with a rangefinder, even judge the distance with greater accuracy. Popular rangefinder scopes have a series of curved lines with numbers next to them, others have straight lines. These lines represent a human-size target, or 6 feet approximately. The closer the lines are together, the higher the number; because a smaller target means a farther target.

Instructions

1. Look through the rangefinder scope at a target you are familiar with. If you know the approximate size of the target you will be able to use the guidelines on the scope to judge the distance.

2. Line up the curved lines on the scope's lens with the top and bottom of your target.

3. Find the number that corresponds with the group of lines that fit perfectly around your target. This number represents the distance. A "2" means 200 yards.

4. Use the rangefinder scope in practice sessions. Envision the lines being filled by your prey, and make the appropriate distance call based on what you see.
