A selector switch is an accessory to home stereo systems that allows you to add multiple sets of speakers to a single pair of speaker outputs. This is useful if you'd like to add additional speakers to your home audio system, but your receiver only has one set of speaker outputs. Wiring a selector switch doesn't require any special tools, you only need to connect speaker wires to the switch.
Instructions
1. Push down on the tab on the selector's "Speaker In R+" terminal and insert the speaker wire lead that connects to your receiver's "R+" output. Push down on the tab on the selector's "Speaker In R-" terminal and insert the speaker wire lead that connects to your receiver's "R-" output.
2. Push down on the tab on the selector's "Speaker In L+" terminal and insert the speaker wire lead that connects to your receiver's "L+" output. Push down on the tab on the selector's "Speaker In L-" terminal and insert the speaker wire lead that connects to your receiver's "L-" output.
3. Connect your first speaker to the selector by pushing down on the tab on the selector's "Speaker 1 Out R+" terminal and inserting the speaker wire that leads to your right speaker's "+" terminal. Push down on the tab on the selector's "Speaker 1 Out R-" terminal and insert the speaker wire lead that leads to your right speaker's "-" terminal.
4. Connect your second speaker to the selector by pushing down on the tab on the selector's "Speaker 1 Out L+" terminal and inserting the speaker wire that leads to your left speaker's "+" terminal. Push down on the tab on the selector's "Speaker 1 Out L-" terminal and insert the speaker wire lead that leads to your left speaker's "-" terminal.
5. Connect additional speaker pairs by repeating Steps 3 and 4, using the terminals designated for "Speaker 2," "Speaker 3," and so on.
