On occasion, an RCA television may need to have certain options reset in order to restore default settings. Software resets, such as resetting the Picture Control, the Parental Control lock and the Wake-Up Timer, can easily be restored to the default settings by accessing the settings menu via the remote control. A Hard Reset is recommended if there are hardware problems with the TV, such as a loss of picture or if the TV isn't turning on properly.
Instructions
Hard Reset
1. Unplug the TV's power cord from the electrical outlet.
2. Wait 5 minutes.
3. Plug the TV's electrical cord back into the electrical outlet. If this does not resolve the problem contact RCA Customer Support (see Reference for website) or a local television repair store.
Reset Picture Controls
4. Press the "Menu" button on the remote.
5. Press or select "1" to open the Picture Quality menu.
6. Press or select "6" to Reset Picture Controls.
Reset Parental Control Lock
7. Press the "Menu" button on the remote.
8. Press or select "4" to open the V-Chip Parental Control menu.
9. Press and hold the volume down and channel up buttons for 5 seconds once the passcode prompt appears. This will reset the passcode to "0000"; enter this to access the parental controls.
Reset Wake-Up Timer
10. Press the "Menu" button on the remote.
11. Press or select "5" to open the Timer menu.
12. Press or select "3" to open the Wake-Up Timer menu.
13. Press the "Presets" button on the remote to reset the Wake-Up Timer.
