Use The Cd Changer In A 1997 Dodge Caravan

The 1997 Dodge Caravan may come with either a four- or six-disc CD changer. This changer is mounted in the center of the dash, beneath the climate control unit. In some vehicles, a CD changer is integrated with the stereo head unit, but this is not the case with the Caravan. The AM/FM radio is a separate unit. Using the CD changer is straightforward and simple once you understand how the radio and disc changer controls work.

Instructions

1. Start the Caravan's engine. If the radio is not on, push the "Power/Volume" knob to turn it on.

2. Push the "Load" button on the CD changer, and then push the button for slot number one. The light above the slot will flash momentarily, and you'll hear the changer shuffling as it readies the slot. The light will then turn solid.

3. Slide the CD into the changer slot with the disc label facing up. One you insert the disc about halfway into the slot, the auto feed system will pull it all the way into the device.

4. Push the "Load" button again, and then push the button for the next slot. Insert another CD in the same manner. Repeat the process until you have inserted all the CDs you want, up to the maximum number for your specific changer.

5. Push the "Disc" button on the radio. The radio switch will automatically change its output to play the discs in the changer. The first disc will begin playing. Push the "Disc Right" button or the "Disc Left" button to switch between the CDs.

6. Push "Eject" on the changer slot, and then push the application slot button, when you are ready to remove a disc.
