The Motorola i530 is a rugged-design cellular flip-phone that runs on the Nextel network. This i530 Nextel phone is made for use in environment that are customarily unfriendly to cellular phones, like construction sites and industrial environments. The i530 has a phone book which holds up to 600 names and numbers. It also has speakerphone capabilities and a built-in push-to-talk mode feature. The basic instructions for the Nextel i530 are fairly straightforward.
Instructions
1. Slide the release button on the back of the phone to release the battery door. Lift the battery door upwards and off to expose the battery compartment.
2. Insert the SIM card into the SIM card slot inside the battery compartment. Align the metal contacts on the SIM with the metal contacts inside the SIM card slot.
3. Insert the battery into the battery compartment with the metal contacts on the battery facing downward and aligned with the metal contacts inside the battery compartment. Replace the battery door and gently push downwards until the door snaps into place.
4. Press the "Power" button to turn the phone on; then enter a phone number into the dial pad of the phone. Press the "Call" button to make a call.
5. Press the "Call" button to receive an incoming call.
6. Use the "Up/Down" arrow button to scroll through the on-screen menu to the "Address Book" icon. Press the "Enter" button to open it.
7. Use the "Up/Down" arrow button to scroll through the address book to select a contact with a Direct Connect listing; then highlight the Direct Connect number (Direct Connect number have a three part sequence separated by asterisk; example 999*999*9999) and press "Enter."
8. Press the "PTT" button on the side of the phone until you hear a beep to call the Direct Connect recipient.
