The Nikon D70 digital camera can be connected to your PC with a memory card or a USB cord.
At times, your PC will not be able to form a connection with your Nikon D70. There are other ways to connect the Nikon D70 and access your saved pictures.
Connections
The memory card and card reader for your Nikon D70 may be malfunctioning or unreadable by your PC. Connecting the Nikon digital camera to your computer via the USB cord that came with the device is the first step in identifying connection problems.
Installation
If your PC is still not allowing your Nikon D70 to connect, you will need to uninstall and reinstall the CD that came with your camera. This will allow the computer to automatically detect the Nikon camera whenever it is attached.
Troubleshooting
Minor troubleshooting can be attempted to identify the connection issue. Try to connect the camera to another computer or a picture kiosk with both the memory card and the USB cord. If a connection is made, the problem lies within your PC. If the memory card or USB cord fail to connect, the problem lies with one of them. When all connection attempts fail, servicing and repairing your Nikon D70 may be required (see Resources).
