Emerson atomic clocks automatically set themselves to the correct time.
Emerson atomic clocks are alarm clocks that automatically set themselves to the correct time. However, if your clock was manufactured before July 2006, it will set itself to the old daylight savings time changes. In this case, change the time manually yourself during the new and old daylight savings times. Some differences do exist among the different models of Emerson clocks. To find instructions specific to your model, locate the owner's manual available on Emerson's website.
Instructions
1. Plug in your Emerson clock. It will automatically set itself to the correct time and day in the Eastern time zone.
2. Find your correct zone number if you do not live in the Eastern time zone. For example, Pacific time is zone 5 and Central time is zone 3. To change the time zone, hold down the time zone button and use the set buttons (with the arrows) to change the number. Your clock will automatically set itself to that time zone in the future.
3. Set the alarm. Emerson clocks have two separate alarms; you can set both for separate times, or choose to use only one. Hold down one of the alarm buttons and use the arrow buttons to set the wake-up time.
4. Set the days of the week you want the alarm to function. By holding down the alarm button, you can see the days of the week light up in the display. This indicates what days the alarm is set to go off. It can go off every day, weekends only or week days only. To change the setting, hold down the alarm button and press the alarm mode button until you've reached your desired setting.
5. Change the brightness of the alarm clock display. If you prefer to sleep in a darker room, move the dimmer button from "high" to "low." Some models also have an "off" selection for the display lights. If you select this option, waving your hand in front of the alarm clock triggers the display lights to flash on for several seconds.
