Instructions For Radio Shack Aa & Aaa Battery Charger

Rechargeable batteries help reduce waste and keep toxic chemicals out of landfills.

Radio Shack has long been an icon in the world of American electronics and gadgets. Started as a retail and mail-order store, it has been serving Americans since the early 1900s. Today Radio Shack manufactures hundreds of products, including battery chargers. Using battery chargers helps reduce waste and keeps batteries -- which are filled with toxic chemicals -- out of landfills. Radio Shack designs its AA & AAA battery chargers to be very easy to use.

Instructions

Recharging AA & AAA batteries with the Radio Shack charger

1. The Radio Shack battery charger plugs into any standard AC outlet.

Plug the charger into a 120V AC outlet.

2. Open the charger cover, if it has one, by lifting the tab on the side of the cover.

3. Set the battery selector switch to either Ni-Cd or Ni-MH, to match the type of battery you want to charge.

4. Set the battery quantity switch to either two or four batteries. Radio Shack chargers require batteries to be charged in series or pairs.

5. Place two AA or AAA batteries in the two chambers on the left side of the charger. If charging four batteries, place them in all four chambers. Always ensure the polarity symbols (+ -) match on the batteries and the charger. Positive battery terminals should be plugged into the positive side of the charger, and negative terminals should be plugged into the negative side.

6. Set the Charge/Discharge switch to "Charge" if using the five hour charger. If using the one hour quick charger, the charge indicator lights will automatically illuminate and the charger will shut down when charging is complete.

7. Unplug the charger and remove the batteries when the charge is complete.
