Use Canon Ef Lenses

Canon EF lenses are some of the highest-quality glass available in today's photography market. Their competitive price coupled with their superior optics makes them a leader in digital SLRs and lenses. Canon has spent endless amounts of time and money to perfect their line of digital lenses, and with a little effort and know-how, you can experience the sharpness and focal quality that is unique to Canon products.

Instructions

1. Remove the lens mount cover and the camera body mount cover so you can attach the lens to your camera. Gently turn them to the left until they come off.

2. Attach the lens by lining up the red dot on the lens with the red dot on your camera, then turn the lens slightly to left so that it clicks into place. The red dot on it will now be on the bottom-left side of the camera.

3. Focus your Canon lens by selecting autofocus (AF) or manual (M). Canon lenses are often equipped with an UltraSonic Motor for autofocusing, making the AF position very helpful for focusing on fast-moving or low-light subjects. Manual is useful for selective focusing so you can choose specifically what you want in focus. Use the focus ring, which wraps around the lens, for manual focus.

4. Because EF lenses are for Canon's digital camera line, you must select the aperture by pressing the aperture value (AV) button on your camera while simultaneously turning the dial usually located next to the shutter button, as opposed to an aperture ring found on an analog lens. Turning it to the left will give you a large aperture such as f/1.4 or f/2.8, which is helpful for selective subject blur for portraits, and turning it to the right will give you a small aperture such as f/8 or f/11, useful for a large, sharp depth of field.

5. To remove the lens, simply press the button located on the bottom left of the camera body and gently turn the lens so the red dot on it meets with the red dot on the camera body.
