The Powershot 1100 IS has an external battery charger.
The Canon PowerShot SD 1100 IS Digital Elph camera features an 8-megapixel sensor and 3x optical zoom. It has a number of high-tech features including image stabilization, multi-point autofocus with face detection technology, and a motor drive that supports continuous shooting at 1.3 frames per second. At just 3.42-by-2.16 inches, this Elph is roughly the same size as a business card. Its NB-4L rechargeable lithium battery is also very small.
Instructions
1. Open the camera's battery door and remove the battery. Slide the battery cover on the bottom panel of the camera so that it extends past the camera body. Swing the cover up to open the compartment. The battery is held in by a spring-loaded locking tab near the camera's edge. Slide the tab back and pull the battery out.
2. Insert your battery into your charger. Align the small triangle on the battery with the small triangle on the charger. Drop the battery in; the end with the registration mark goes in first.
3. Plug your charger into a wall outlet. If your charger has a separate power cord, make sure the cord is both plugged into the wall and plugged into the power port on your charger's top panel.
4. Let the battery charge for about 90 minutes, or until the charge indicator light turns green.
