A lens for a digital camera.
The Sony Cyber-shot is a high-quality digital camera that can fit inside your pocket. This camera has many important internal components, but the most important one, as well as the most sensitive, is the lens. If you have a damaged or broken lens on you Cyber-shot, you need to address the problem immediately. If you don't have the money to take it into the shop, you'll be pleased to know you can actually remove the lens yourself.
Instructions
1. Turn off your Sony Cyber-shot and slide the latch on the top of the camera to the side to release the memory compartment cover. Remove the memory card from the camera.
2. Use your Phillips screwdriver to remove the three screws located on the bottom of the camera, the two screws on the right side of the camera and the two screws on the left side of the camera.
3. Pry the back panel gently from the camera to expose the LCD screen.
4. Slide the metal panel on the side of the camera closest to the lens back to remove it from the camera. Slide the panel on the opposite side of the camera to the front to remove it from the camera.
5. Use your Phillips screwdriver to remove the two screws on the side of the camera closest to the lens.
6. Insert the tip of your case opener tool (available from any electronics store) in the seam between the front frame of the camera and the body of the device. Work your way around the front frame, popping all the internal tabs as you go. Lift the front frame off of the camera when finished.
7. Use your screwdriver to remove the single black screw on the back of the camera just above the mode selection dial.
8. Lift the back screen panel up and to the right, then unplug the two LCD cables from where they connect on the body of the camera.
9. Locate the black lens assembly in the left corner of the camera. Unplug the two orange lens cables from where they connect at the body of the camera.
10. Lift the lens out of the camera and set it aside. You can now replace it with a new one if need be. Reassemble the camera in the reverse order you took it apart when finished.
