Sirius Radio Antenna Installation

Sirius distributes hundreds of radio stations via a satellite signal.

Sirius radio retrieves a signal from a satellite. Therefore, you will need to install a special antenna that is made especially for gaining this signal. To get the best, clearest signal, the antenna needs to be placed on the outside of the car and connected to the radio on the interior of the car. This job does not require professional installation and can be completed in less than an hour.

Instructions

1. Place the magnetic antenna on the highest point of your car. The roof will get the best signal for your radio. It should be at least 3 inches away from the side of your roof and any other object.

2. Cover the exposed wire on the antenna. Place the rubber cover supplied with the Sirius radio kit over the wire.

3. Remove the rubber frame seal from the door frame that is closest to the antenna. Use a putty knife to pry the seal away from the car. Run the antenna wire along the groove that is now exposed. The wire should head to the front of the car. Replace the rubber seal by pressing it into the groove over the antenna wire.

4. Run the cable down the front of the door frame, under the steering wheel and dashboard and to the receiver inside of your car.

5. Plug the end of the antenna wire into the antenna jack or port of your receiver.

6. Test the radio. Turn on the radio by pressing the power button. The signal should come in clear. If there is any interference, check all connections or try a new location for your antenna.
