Google's Android mobile operating system is featured on phones and tablets.
Smartphones that feature Google's Android mobile operating system can store content such as music and contacts. However, as with any computer or smartphone, it's always important to back up your information. Fortunately, Android smartphones make it easy to copy your personal data.
Instructions
1. Connect the USB cable to your phone and your computer. The smaller end of the cable fits into the phone, while the larger end plugs into an available USB port on your computer.
2. Wait for the "Connect to PC" prompt to appear on your phone's display.
3. Click "Disk Drive" then "Done."
4. Open up "My Computer" on your desktop. Your phone's memory will be displayed as an accessible storage location.
5. Open your phone's memory in "My Computer" and locate any files you want to back up.
6. Use your mouse to select these files and drag them onto the desktop. This will cue a file transfer progress bar. Once it is complete and disappears, your files will be fully backed up onto your computer.
