Replace The Screen Of A Kodak Easyshare C743 Digital Camera

LCD screens are always exposed and open to damage.

The Kodak Easyshare C743 is a 7.1-megapixel digital camera which offers an extra large LCD screen. Measuring 2.4 inches, this screen offers excellent viewing of captured images. However, its large surface area is pone to being knocked and potentially cracked. Kodak will fit new screens for users, but it is quicker to purchase and install a replacement yourself. New screens cost around $30 from all reputable camera stores.

Instructions

1. Remove the batteries from the Kodak Easyshare C714.

2. Remove the screws on the outside of the camera body. There will be two on the right hand side, two on the left and three on the bottom.

3. Open the battery door (if it's not already) and pull the two parts of the case apart.

4. Pull the LCD screen out of the case from the top. It will swing down like a door as it's hinged at the bottom.

5. Remove the screw from the top right-hand corner of the below screen case with a Phillips-head screwdriver.

6. Pry the LCD case from the main body by inserting a flat head screwdriver next to the connecting points and twisting. There is one on the left-hand side and another on the bottom. Remove the LCD case.

7. Press the black tab upwards that connects the orange ribbon from the LCD screen to the motherboard. It will pop. Remove the ribbon from the motherboard.

8. Insert the new LCD's orange ribbon into the now open port and press down the black tab until it clicks shut. Repeat the above steps in reverse (if you choose not to solder the new screen into place, ensure you build the camera face-down to prevent the screen from slipping out of place before screwing the case back together).
