Xm Radio Installation In A 2003 Porsche

Sirius XM, formerly XM Radio, broadcasts by satellite more than 150 digital channels of music, news, sports, radio classics, regional traffic and other programming directly to homes and vehicles equipped with Sirius XM satellite receiver and antenna. In addition to installing the equipment, you must subscribe to receive the satellite signal. None of this is difficult or takes much time. While professional installation is an option, you can quickly and easily install the Sirius XM radio system in your 2003 Porsche or any other car yourself, and receive its signal through the car's FM radio or stereo system.

Instructions

1. Mount the XM standard magnetic antenna on the trunk lid .

2. Bring the antenna cable into the trunk and secure it to the inside of the lid, using a strong adhesive tape.

3. Attach the cable to the trunk hinge using a nylon quick tie. Be sure to leave plenty of slack so the trunk can open and close without causing damage to the system or the vehicle.

4. Feed the antenna cable along the vehicle's interior wall, under the trim and carpeting and route it to the front of the vehicle.

5. Secure the XM radio receiver to the Porsche's dashboard using the suction cup mount that comes with the unit's base. Plug the radio in to the car's electrical outlet.

6. Connect the antenna cable to the receiver.

7. Tune your car's FM radio receiver to 88.1 and search up from there to find a frequency not being used by a local FM station. Set your satellite radio's output switch to the same frequency. Your satellite radio will broadcast its programming through your car's FM radio. You also can connect the audio of your Sirius XM Radio directly to your vehicle's stereo system using the AUX or AUX IN, or LINE IN jack.
