Identify An Anniversary Clock

Anniversary clocks are not necessarily gifts you give an individual to mark a special anniversary, but are actually a specific make and style of clock. Anniversary clocks have specific characteristics that are found on most models produced. After you know what to look for, it is rather easy to pick an anniversary clock from the variety of other clock models available.

Instructions

1. Look for a glass dome around the main clock display. All anniversary clocks have some sort of glass encasing around the clock. Most of the time, this glass casing can be removed to allow you to clean the inside of the clock.

2. Check to see if there are a series of dangling chimes hanging from the clock display. These chimes rotate while the clock is running. Often the chimes are made out of glass or a metal such as brass.

3. Inspect the clock display itself. It should be circular with roman numerals instead of modern numbers. Also, note that the roman numeral for the number 4 is not the standard "IV" but "IIII."

4. Look to see if the anniversary clock is small. These clocks are made to be placed on a mantel or table. These clocks are not free standing like larger grandfather clocks.
