Use A Canon 100mm Macro

Macro lenses like the Canon 100mm Macro are used for close-up photography.

Canon produces a number of different products for use in photography, from digital cameras to external flashes, to prime and zoom lenses. The Canon 100mm Macro lens is designed for close-up photography such as photographing flowers or other fauna. The lens is also a good focal length for portrait photography.

Instructions

1. Carefully hold the lens in one hand and your Canon digital or single lens reflex camera in the other.

2. Line up the red dots on the outside of the lens and the red dot on the mounting ring of the camera. Place the lens on the camera and turn it clockwise until the lens clicks into place.

3. Turn the camera on, and make sure the "AF/MF" switch on the side of the lens is set to "AF." This places the lens in auto-focus mode.

4. Attach the camera to a sturdy tripod and position the camera and lens close to the subject you are shooting. Look through the viewfinder and press the shutter release halfway down. Once the lens is focused you should see a green circle in the bottom of viewfinder confirming the lens is in focus.

5. Press the shutter release the rest of the way down to take the picture.
