Recover Data From A Memory Card

Memory cards are portable devices used to store data.

A memory card is a small chip used in various devices to contain and store the files created by the device. You would have a memory card in an MP3 player, digital camera and various other pieces of technology. Once you have transferred the files for the card, you probably wipe the card clean. If you do this accidentally, there is a way to recover the erased data and save it from permanently oblivion.

Instructions

1. Download the memory card recovery software. If you only have to recover files once or recover a single file you, can just get a trial version. If you need to recover many files or perform a recovery multiple times, you will need to buy the full version.

2. Extract the installation file and install the software onto your computer by following the installation wizard.

3. Insert the memory card you want to recover data from into your computer and launch the recovery software.

4. Choose your memory card from the drive list on your recovery software. Let the software run and locate all of the recoverable data from your memory card.

5. Select the data that you want to recover from the results of the program's search. Use whatever filter or limiting parameters your program has to find specific data.

6. Choose a destination for the recovered files. You can choose your computer, memory card or other drive for this location.

7. Click "OK" to initiate the recovery and wait for the transfer to finish. Disconnect the memory card once the program tells you its finished.
