Bluetooth Headset Troubleshooting For Samsung Phones

Many Samsung phones are equipped with Bluetooth abilities that allow them to be wirelessly connected to a computer or to a hands-free headset. While setting up and operating the Bluetooth function on your phone is relatively easy to do, you can potentially run into a few problems along the way.

Power Bluetooth On

Power the Bluetooth on before you try to use your Samsung phone. Bluetooth requires some additional battery power in order to operate, so Samsung phones will typically default to having the Bluetooth powered off in order to maximize battery power for the phone. Before using a Bluetooth device for the first time, go into the Bluetooth menu of the phone (found under the "Settings" menu) and make sure Bluetooth is powered on.

Pair Your Device

Pair your Samsung phone to your computer or headset in order to use it. In order for your phone to communicate with a hands-free headset or your laptop, it must first be paired with the device. To do that, go into the Bluetooth menu of your Samsung phone and select "Search for new devices" from the available choices. Once your phone locates your headset or computer, enter the "Pairing Code" found on your headset or other device in order to connect the two.

Keep It Close

Keep Bluetooth devices physically close to your Samsung phone in order to use them. Most Bluetooth devices only have a range of around 10 feet. If you step out of that range using a headset or other device, your connection could be disrupted or even lost. Try to keep your Samsung phone as close as possible to the Bluetooth device you're using in order to prevent problems.
