The Eye-Fi card adapter plugs directly into an open SD card slot on a computer.

The main benefit of PC memory card adapters is convenience. Memory PC card adapters, used in devices such as digital cameras and video cameras, allow photographers to transport data from their camera to their computer with the simplicity of a card. If traveling, a photographer does not necessarily have to bring a camera at all, just the memory card. Other types of PC card adapters, such as TV and wireless, serve a specific purpose.
