Remove Scratches From The Se K800i'S Glass Lens

Fix scratches on a cellphone screen using scratch remover.

The SE K800i is a mobile handset manufactured and distributed by Sony. It features a front-facing glass digital screen that displays information and graphics. Sometimes during daily use the screen may become scratched, marring the display. Fortunately, it is easy to fix the SE K800i scratched lens using scratch remover.

Instructions

1. Buy scratch remover. Products such as Displex and Talismoon are both easily purchased on the Internet and at most cell phone sales outlets. The small tube of scratch remover can be purchased separately, or in a package with a new microfiber cloth. A tube of scratch remover retails for about $5, with a scratch kit including a microfiber cloth costing between $9 and $11. See Resources (below).

2. Wash scratched area. Using a damp paper towel, gently clean the scratched area. Using a dry paper towel, dry the damp area, making sure to remove all moisture before applying scratch remover.

3. Spread scratch remover on microfiber cloth. Each bottle of scratch remover holds enough for about 10 applications, so spread about one-tenth on a portion of the microfiber cloth. Apply scratch remover to scratched surface. Gently rub the scratch remover into the scratched area in a circular motion. Continue rubbing scratched area for three minutes.

4. Wipe away any excess residue while using a clean portion of the microfiber cloth. Gently wipe until the scratched area is clean and smooth. Let the phone sit turned off for half an hour to allow scratch remover to set. Deep scratches may take multiple applications to fully remove.
