Connect A Canon Xl1 Digital Video Camcorder

Produce and watch videos from the Canon XL1 camcorder.

The Canon XL1 Digital Video Camcorder uses older, outdated video recording technology. Still, it remains popular among amateur videographers and digital film makers because of features like the 16x long glass interchangeable lens and the 3x wide angle lens. It uses a digital recording cassette to record film instead of the current DVDs, so you have to connect the camcorder directly to the TV to watch the recorded video.

Instructions

S-Video Connection

1. Connect the power cable to the camera and a power outlet.

2. Connect one end of an S-150 video cable to the S-Video port on the camera. Connect the other end to the S-video connection to the TV.

Purchase an STV-150 stereo/video cable at a local electronics store if you no longer have the original cord. Connect the white plug to the White audio terminal on the TV. Connect the red plug to the red Audio terminal on the TV and leave the yellow video connector loose without connecting it.
