Att Wireless Information

AT&T Wireless (formerly known as Cingular) is one of the leading wireless service providers, offering everything from regional to international service plans. AT&T Wireless offers a variety of features and products for both new and current customers. AT&T Wireless is the exclusive U.S. distributor of the iPhone, which helps boost the carrier's popularity. There are several factors to consider when you choose your AT&T Wireless plan.

Significance

Choose your AT&T Wireless service plan carefully because you most likely will be locked in to a one- or two-year contract. New AT&T Wireless users generally have to sign a two-year contract agreement. AT&T Wireless offers a variety of plans and services, so research your options to avoid having to pay the $175 early termination fee to break your contract.

Service Plans

AT&T Wireless offers a variety of plans to meet each user's need. Individual plans range from $39.99 and up and include from 450 anytime minutes to unlimited anytime minutes if you select the Nationwide Unlimited plan. Weekend minutes range from 5,000 free minutes to unlimited depending on the plan you select.

Every individual service plan includes free mobile-to-mobile minutes if you call other AT&T Wireless customers. AT&T Wireless also offers family share plans.

Data Plans

AT&T Wireless provides data plans for both consumers and businesses. Some data plans include Wi-Fi. Data plans range from $19 and up depending on the amount of usage and the range of usage. A data plan allows you to connect to the Internet and display rich HTML email and websites. Data plans are mandatory for iPhones.

Phones

AT&T works with a variety of phone suppliers such as Apple, Blackberry, Samsung, Ericsson, Nokia, LG and Motorola. The phones range from flip phones, PDA/smartphones, iPhones and GoPhones, which allow the freedom of prepaid phone service. AT&T Wireless phones also come with a variety of features, including MP3 and video playback, camera functions and instant messaging. While most AT&T phones have to be purchased in addition to a service plan, some are free with a service plan but do not include as many features.

Coverage

You can preview network coverage in your area by using the Coverage Viewer on the At&T Wireless website. Type in your address, state and Zip code, and the map will show you what the coverage is like at your address and at neighboring locations. The darker shaded areas signify the areas with the greatest signal strength.
