Save A Canon Fs100 To A Computer

Connect your video camera directly to your computer via a USB data cable.

The Canon FS100 is a digital video camera that records all of its video content directly onto a built-in hard drive. This allows you to upload the video content to any computer system, without the aid of a video editing program. This is incredibly helpful if you are not looking to edit the video content, but instead just place the content onto your computer or DVD. All the required hardware needed to perform the connection is provided with the Canon FS100 upon purchase.

Instructions

1. Insert the USB data cable into the USB port on the back of your Canon FS100 digital video camera.

2. Plug the other end of the cable into one of the USB ports on your computer system.

3. Power on the Canon FS100 and set it to "Playback" mode. Your computer states it has detected a new, removable device.

4. Click "Start," "(My) Computer," then double-click the removable device icon. This loads a window with all of the files currently stored on the video camera.

5. Click-and-drag the video files onto the desktop (or any other location on the computer system). This imports and saves the video content of the Canon FS100 to your computer.
