If your dog has damaged a prized Coach purse in your collection, repairing it is a necessity. Chances are, you will be able to repair the purse, which will leave you and your pooch happy. Gather the appropriate materials and take some time to evaluate the condition of the purse.
Instructions
1. Evaluate the bite marks on the purse. Look for loose strings, holes, torn fabric or leather and anything else that is damaged. Take photos of the damage so that you have a visual record in case you need it.
2. Clean the damaged corner. Check Coach's official website to ensure that you use a cleaning product that is okay for your purse type. Leather, suede and fabric require different cleaning solutions and can be damaged if exposed to certain types of chemicals. Use a small amount of cleaning solution and gently rub the damaged area with a clean rag. Let the solution dry for 30 minutes.
3. Use nail scissors to trim any loose threads near the dog bite. If the corner of the purse contains leather, use a matching shoe polish to hide the evidence of teeth marks. Apply colored shoe polish to the leather with a Q-Tip using circular motions. Blow-dry the polish so that it sets into the leather and covers the bite marks completely. You may need to repeat this step several times. To get the corner back to its original state, you may have to resew the seam using a needle and thread. Choose a thread color that blends in with the fabric or leather.
4. Consider sending your purse to the official Coach repair center if you were unable to fix the damaged area. Look at the requirements of the repair center online, and understand that it will cost you a minimum of $20 in shipping plus the fees for the repair.
