Move your photos from boxes to frames.
Don't let your photos stay tucked away on your hard drive or in a photo lab envelope forever. Display memories of your family, friends and favorite places to add a cozy, welcoming feel to your home. From a scrolling slide show on a digital frame to custom printed photo books, your photos can become personalized decor pieces. Whether you collect snapshots of the grandchildren or have multiple CDs of family vacations tucked away, revive your favorite photographs so everyone who enters your home can visually stroll down memory lane.
Instructions
1. Slip your favorite snapshots into photo coasters. Choose glass coasters at a craft shop and trim your existing photos to fit or have coasters printed from your digital files at a premium photo lab that offers novelty products. Create coasters by theme. Use a set of Christmas photos to make coasters for holiday guests to use while visiting your home.
2. Display photos with a collective theme -- but of varying sizes -- together as a table-top collage. Frame wallet, 3-by-5, 4-by-6 and 5-by-7 photos of school-age children and arrange them on a foyer, living room or dining room accent table. Place tall frames to the back and small frames to the front to create a layered look.
3. Download your album of vacation pictures to a book-making program. Check with your favorite photo processing retailer for book styles and templates. Choose from hard covers, paperback-style books and even cloth-cover children's books. Display the photo books on a coffee table or on an accent table in a guest bedroom.
4. Transfer your favorite digital files to a flash drive or media card for display on a digital photo frame. Scan hard copy print photos into a computer to digitize them for inclusion in the project. Program the digital frame to display the photographs with music and captions, if desired, by changing settings in the frame's menu options.
5. Create an ever-changing wall display for new photographs. Hang a set of three, five or seven picture frames -- of varying sizes -- just above eye level in an area you view often, such as a home office, foyer or living room. Update the display continually as you receive new photos.
