Use A Cdg Karaoke Machine

Compact disc plus graphics (CDG) CDs are frequently used to hold karaoke songs. The format makes it easy to play the karaoke songs and display the moving sing along lyrics for which karaoke is known. You can use your CDG karaoke machine to play a programmed set of tracks too.

Instructions

Use Your Karaoke Machine's CDG Progamming Function

1. Place the CDG discs containing the tracks you want to program into your karaoke machine.

2. Hold down the "Program" button until the program light on the display screen lights up. This indicates that you are in programming mode.

3. Press the "Stop" button on your karaoke player. Most CDG karaoke players can only be programmed when no disc is playing.

4. Push either the forward or backward arrow button until the display lights up with the number of the first track you wish the machine to play. Press the "Program" button again to confirm your track choice.

5. Continue to select and add songs to your programming list until you have completed the play list you want.

6. Press the "Play" button when you are ready to begin running the series of karaoke songs you programmed. Press the "Stop" button at any time during the play back to cancel the program.

Use Your CDG Karaoke Machine to Listen to Music

7. Place any music CD into your CDG karaoke machine and press the "Play" button. Nearly all CDG-capable karaoke machines can accommodate regular music CDs as well.

8. Use the forward or backwards button to search the music CD at high speed. You can only fast forward or reverse while a regular CD is playing. CDGs can only be searched while the machine is in the stop mode.

Use Your CDG Karaoke Machine as a Public Address System

9. Plug the microphone into one of the microphone jacks on your machine. Most stand alone karaoke machines allow you to use them as PA systems.

10. Set the function dial to auxiliary (Aux). This will route the sound from the microphone directly through the speakers rather than first filtering it through a CD.

11. Hold the microphone away from the karaoke machine while you speak into it in PA mode. Holding the microphone too close can cause whistling and feedback.
