An amplifier provides power to the rest of your stereo and allows you to play music at high quality. A factory stereo in a car comes with a small amp installed, but many audiophiles don't find it sufficient. Hooking up a more powerful amp will improve the performance of your factory stereo.
Instructions
1. Remove the front panel of your car's dashboard so you will be able to run wires from your amplifier to your car battery as well as the back of your factory stereo.
2. Run the red wire connected to your amplifier through the back of the dashboard and into the engine block. Connect it to your car battery's positive terminal.
3. Use the drill and bolt to attach the black, or grounding, wire from your amplifier to the metal on your car's floor or in the trunk.
4. Run the wires labeled "Line Out" on the back of your amplifier under the carpeting on the floor of the car to the jacks on the back of your factory stereo.
5. Plug the wires coming out of your car's speakers into the appropriate inputs on the back of your amplifier. Plug the red tip of each wire into the appropriate red input on the back of the amplifier and the black tip for each wire into the appropriate black input on the back of the amplifier.
