Understand Digital Photo Frames

Put all of your favorite photos on a digital photo frame.

Digital photo frames are a great way to display many photos in a single, changing frame. Instead of having a single photo printed out and displayed in a basic photo frame, digital photo frames let you choose several rotating pictures to display. It's easy to switch up the photos at any point. You can also choose how each picture transitions into the next. More advanced digital photo frames even let you display short videos.

Instructions

1. Narrow down your needs. If you're technology savvy, then opt for a digital photo frame with all of the bells and whistles, including WiFi web browsers, Internet radio and news feeds. If you simply want to display your photos and nothing else, choose a simple, basic digital photo frame. You'll save money as you cut down extra features.

2. Read reviews. Don't settle for a digital photo frame simply because it's a brand name. The best way to figure out if you'll love or hate the product is to read through an array of user reviews. Pay close attention to repeat complaints.

3. Choose high-resolution frames. Regardless of price or manufacturer, you won't benefit from your photo frame if the quality of the display is crummy. Don't settle for anything less than a resolution of 640 by 680 dpi. The higher the resolution, the better your photos will display.

4. Set your photo frame's options to deliver the best slideshow possible. Determine if you want to view pictures in the portrait or landscape mode. You can also set the slide smusic either by streaming music from the Internet or connecting your iPod to the frame. Some frames can be mounted on the wall. Alternatively, you can move around a standing photo frame to a particular room when you want to showcase your pictures to company.
