A waypoint is a set of coordinates on a map that is used to route to a specific location, find your way back to your starting point or direct you home. Having waypoints on your maps also help you to stay oriented. You can create new waypoints for your Magellan GPS at any time during your trip, either by making your current location a waypoint, by scrolling through the map or by using coordinates. You can also create waypoints from home. Magellan VantagePoint software allows you to effectively plan your trip before leaving and is available to download from the Magellan website. The software enables you to view and edit your GPS maps on your computer. You can plan your routes, search for points-of-interest and locate coordinates as well as creating waypoints or geocaches. You can upload your route, waypoint, or geocache to the Magellan Triton GPS.
