Protect A Table With Plexiglass

Protetcing a table with plexiglass is easy.

Plexiglass is lightweight, transparent thermoplastic that is weather-resistant, making it ideal for a number of household applications including furniture protection. Tables are easily scratched and damaged by objects hitting or sliding on them and spills can permanently stain the table top. Protecting a table with plexiglass can be done very quickly.

Instructions

1. Measure your table's dimensions so you know what size plexiglass you will need. Use a tape measure to gauge the length and width of the tabletop.

2. Purchase a sheet of plexiglass from a glass company, hardware store or home improvement store. Most can cut the sheet to the dimensions of your table and shape it as needed.

3. Lay the plexiglass sheet on top of the table, then add other objects such as dishes or candlesticks. plexiglass is clear, so you will see the table top, but the plexiglass will prevent the table from damage.

Tips Warnings

You can cut plexiglass yourself if you have eye protection and a powerful saw, but it is best to have a retail store do it at time of purchase.
