Hydro Quad Water Softner - does it work?
Hello All Need some help please, I have been given a Hydro Quad softner for my house but the trouble is I am not sure if its working. Its been sitting in service mode for the last 5 years and not sure if the controller is working, does anyone know how I can test these units please? Also as its been sitting for five years do I need to change all the media inside the main unit itself? I am pretty good with plumbing so I can install this unit myself to the house but don't want to waste my time if it doesn't work. The unit is currently installed at another home so I could test it right now before moving it. It does need a clean and the brine tank has old water in it so I need to give it a good clean out. Sorry but not sure what to do first with this unit, is it more trouble than its worth? Is it a good model to use? Hope someone can answer my questions Thanks very much Stu Maybe it wasn't working when it was given to you. Do you have a manual? In the center of the clear cap is a philips head. Using a screwdriver, push down and turn clockwise until you hear water flowing. This will start a regen. Watch it for about 30 min to see if it is advancing through a regen. This will tell you if the regen side is working. Turn water on in the house and watch the no back pawl. If you see it ride up a tooth than drop down into the next slot will tell you if the meter side is working. Thank you so much, I will try that out tomorrow and see if it's working correctly and report back. I know this has been asked so many times but where would be the best way to source a complete manual for the Hydro Quad? I found part of one online? In the main canister of the filter after so many years is there media that needs replacing? Thank you Stu
