Use A Process Camera Lens

A camera process lens is mostly used in the graphic arts industry and occasionally by professional photographers when they want to make very large prints. The lens can make very large prints because it doesn't have curvature which could result in loss of focus and picture distortion. It is optimized for 1:1 reproduction. Using a process camera lens is a complicated procedure for anyone doing general photography.

Instructions

1. Get yourself a process camera. Process lens are designed specifically for process cameras. Mount the plate or label the process lens came with above the lens.

2. Determine the effects you'd like to create and mount the special lens to the camera to create that effect. An anamorphic lens, for example, reduces the size of an image in only one direction instead of the height and width proportionately, as is typically done.

3. Rotate the lens to adjust the amount of light that will reach your film. When the lens is rotated, metal blades inside the barrel of the lens create a larger or smaller opening for the light to pass through. The amount of light exposed to the film will affect the quality of your picture. This technique is referred to as adjusting the exposure settings.

4. Adjust the focus using the focusing boards. Take the picture.
