Sony Minidv White Balance Instructions

Camcorders enable people to record their own home movies digitally.

The Sony Mini DV camcorder series contains a variety of hand held video cameras. Some cameras in the series can film in high definition. A wide range of features, including the ability to take still photographs, are supported by the devices. In order to get natural color when filming, it is sometimes necessary to adjust the white balance of the camera. The camera has a simple specific procedure to adjust and store the white balance settings.

Instructions

1. Set the "Auto/Manual" switch to "Manual," either during recording or standby.

2. Press the "Wht Bal" button located in the button panel on the left-hand side of the camcorder.

3. Set the white balance memory switch in the button panel to either "A" or "B." If you select "Preset," then either indoor or outdoor mode will come up, depending on which one was used last.

4. Capture a white subject such as a blank piece of paper, so it fills the entire display.

5. Push the second button from the right on the button panel. A light will flash on the "A" or "B" options on the button panel until the white balancing is complete.
