Take Baby Pictures

Take Baby Pictures

Focus on taking better baby pictures with some quick and easy tips. Capture the precious face of your little one in the best light possible. Children grow up so fast. Their earliest, fleeting moments can be preserved with great pictures. Read on to learn more.

Instructions

1. Choose a great digital camera. Great pictures can be snapped with a disposable camera but a great zoom and display can do wonders. Digital cameras also allow you to take a lot of pictures and delete the ones that you don't want.

2. Shoot at eye level. Get down to the eye level of the baby you're trying to capture and zoom in on the face. Try taking pictures from various angles.

3. See the light. Optimal light is right after sunrise and just before sunset. Bright mid-day lighting makes for a squinty baby. If lighting isn't the best indoors, try using the flash.

4. Go for props. Capturing a baby giggle almost guarantees a great shot. Make the giggles come out by wearing a funny hat, holding up toys or making a silly face. Bring a puppy into the picture for added interaction.

5. Time a photo shoot according to baby's schedule. Pick a time of day to take pictures when baby is most likely to smile, typically in the morning.

6. Help the baby sit up. Use rolled up towels or blankets to angle the baby upright. Hold the baby and cover your hands with a blanket so it looks as though baby is sitting up on his or her own. But sometimes the best shot is with baby laying down in a comfortable position.

7. Experiment with color. Try capturing baby in black in white or sepia. If the camera doesn't have added color features, chances are the print shop will.

8. Crop photos to include baby only. Remove the distracting background by cutting it out. This feature is available at most photo printing places.
