Operate A Sony A200 Digital Slr Camera

Operate a Sony A200 Digital SLR Camera

The A200 is a digital single-lens reflex (DSLR) camera developed and manufactured by Sony. Originally released in 2008, the camera is midpriced and intended to be a mass market DSLR for general consumers rather than just specialty photographers. At the time, it incorporated some of Sony's most advanced camera technology including an integrated D-Range Optimizer, an expansive 2.7-inch digital LCD monitor, and a proprietary image stabilization system.

Instructions

1. Charge the A200's batteries. Remove the battery pack from the bottom of the A200 and insert into the A200's battery charger. The flat end of the battery should be inserted horizontally into the charger with the metal contact pads entering first. Plug the charger into a reliable power source. The charger's front indicator light will be illuminated while the battery is charging and will automatically turn off when the battery is recharged.

2. Replace the battery pack into the A200, pushing firmly until you hear the battery click into its compartment. Close the battery cover, ensuring it is locked in place.

3. Turn the body cap on the front of the A200 counterclockwise. This unlocks it from position and allows you to remove it. The body cap protects the camera's lens face when not in use.

4. Screw on the lens. The A200 comes with the default A200 a-series lens. However, it is compatible with all a-series lenses, as well as Minolta and Konica Minolta AF lenses. Place the lens on the camera's lens face with the orange marks on the lens matched with the orange mark on the camera. Turn the lens clockwise to lock the lens piece into the camera face.

5. Open the memory card slot on the right-hand side of the A200 when facing the back of the camera. Insert a compact flash or Microdrive memory card or Sony's proprietary Memory Stick Duo.

6. Turn on the A200 by sliding its power switch to the right. The power switch is located on the back of the camera to the left of the viewfinder.

7. Look through the viewfinder at a scene or setting that you wish to capture. Alternatively, look at the LCD display screen on the back of the camera. Press the camera's shutter button to shoot a picture.
