Find The Software Version On A Garmin Nuvi

The Garmin Nuvi is a popular line of personal GPS devices. The Nuvi can pinpoint your exact location and guide you to a desired destination with step-by-step instructions. It uses satellite technology to determine your exact location and then searches the installed maps to know what is around. Looking through your Garmin Nuvi settings, you can see which operating system software and map software versions it uses. You always want to be sure both are updated to be sure you aren't directed to the wrong location.


Instructions


System Software








1. Go to the main menu screen and click on the tool icon on the top right-hand side of the screen.








2. Click the "System" button.


3. Click "About" at the bottom of the screen. The following screen will show the software version as well as other details.


Map Software


4. Go back to the main menu screen and again click on the tool icon.


5. Click the "Map" button.


6. Click "Map Info" at the bottom of the screen. This will show you any map versions you have installed.
