Unpublish Cell Phone Information







Cell phone numbers recently have been released to public databases, allowing telemarketers to access your number. Since you are likely charged for every call you receive on your mobile phone, find out unpublish your cell phone number. Once your number is unpublished, you may see a reduction in the number of telemarketing calls to your cell phone.








Instructions


1. Go to the National Do Not Call Registry website, http://www.donotcall.gov. On the main menu on the homepage, choose "Register a Phone Number."


2. Enter your cell phone number to be placed on the Do Not Call list. You can register as many as three phone numbers at a time. You also must provide a valid email address.


3. Submit the information, then check for a verification email from the Do Not Call Registry. Within the body of the email is a link that you must click on to complete registering the phone number as unpublished. You will see a "Registration Complete" message after you have finished the process.


4. File a complaint if you still receive telemarketing calls more than 30 days after you have unpublished your cell phone number. On the National Do Not Call Registry website, select "File a Complaint" to report the telemarketing party.
