Make Your Own Digital Picture Frame

Digital picture displays offer many perks over traditional, hard copy photographs. Digital frames make it possible for you to display several photos at once by cycling through each image as a slide show. Additionally, you can change the displayed images easily, whereas old-fashioned frames require removing the frame from the wall, popping out the frame's backing and physically changing the photo. Msnbc news even reports that T-Mobile has developed a new digital picture frame with the ability to change display images from virtually anywhere with a cell phone---in the future, you won't even have to wait to get home to upload a new picture to that digital frame. Unfortunately, digital picture frames are more expensive than traditional frames. However, the good news is that even after settling on a pricey digital photo display, you do not have to stick with the frame for all eternity---you can make a new picture frame for your digital photo display in just a few simple steps.

Instructions

1. Unscrew the old frame from the digital display.

2. Measure the inside of the old frame after it has been removed; it's easier to measure once the bulky digital display has been unscrewed.

3. Use a miter saw to cut crown molding or trim. Cut the pieces so each end has a 45-degree angle slanted toward the same side, much like a triangle with the top cut off. Cut four pieces with the shortest sides of the pieces matching the inside measurements of the old frame.

4. Match the angled edges to create a rectangle. Glue these edges together and use a staple gun to further secure the joints.

5. Stain or paint the wooden molding or trim the desired color.

6. Wait for the rectangular assembly to dry, then attach it to the digital display using the same screws from the old frame. Make sure the frame is centered and hang it on your wall to enjoy your new digital picture frame.
