Write To A Protected Sd Card

SD cards are a type of memory card that is used in computers, digital cameras and other electronics. They are about the size of a postage stamp and hold differing amounts of data, sometimes up to several gigabytes. After you transfer data onto an SD card, you can flip up the tiny switch on the side of the card to "ock the SD card and prevent someone from accidentally writing over your data. It is not possible to write to a protected SD card unless you are able to unlock it.

Instructions

1. Look for a tiny switch on the side of the SD card. This is the "Lock" and "Unlock" feature.

2. See if you are able to switch it to the "Unlock" position. If so, you should now be able to write over the SD card. If this did not work, proceed to Step 3.

3. Flip the switch up and down three times.

4. Hold it on the "Lock" position for 30 seconds and then move it to the "Unlock" position.

5. Stick it in your computer's SD slot and see if you can write over it now. If the switch is broken or missing, proceed to the next step.

6. Place a small piece of tape over the top half of the gap where the switch used to be. This mimics the "Unlock" position.

7. Insert the SD card into your computer and see if you can write over it.
