Use An Emerson Hd7088

The Emerson HD7088 CD player is a personal audio device capable of playing audio CDs as well as CD-R and CD-RW discs containing MP3 files. Other features include digital-quality stereo headphones, a two-line scrolling text display and anti-skip memory, which holds a buffer of 45 seconds of audio playback. The device uses a consistent control scheme for handling both audio CD and MP3 file playback; however, searching for individual MP3 files requires the use of a special set of buttons.

Instructions

Playback

1. Turn on the CD player by pressing the "Play" button, which is the large, oval button located at the upper-right end of the button array. Find the open switch, located on the front edge of the CD player. Move the switch to the right to open the cover.

2. Insert the CD into the CD player with the label facing upward. Position the hole in the CD over the CD player's spindle. Push the CD onto the spindle. Close the cover and press down on it until it clicks into place.

3. Insert the headphone's jack into the matching port on the right side of the CD player. Press the "Play" button and put on the headphones. Slide the volume control, located on the right side of the device, to the desired volume level.

4. Press the "Play" button to toggle the pause setting, as desired. Press the "Stop" button, located below the "Play" button, to stop playback completely. Press the two "Skip/Search" buttons located below the "Stop" button to skip forward or backward through the CD's tracks; hold the buttons down to fast forward or rewind the current track.

5. Press the "Play Mode" button, located to the left of the "Skip/Search" buttons, to set the CD player to repeat playback of the current track. Press the button again to repeat playback of the entire CD after completion. Press the "Stop" button twice to turn off the CD player when desired.

MP3 Search

6. Find the "Enter" button, located at the upper-left end of the button array. Press the "File/Dir" button, located two buttons below the "Enter" button.

7. Examine the numbers and letters printed next to the CD player's buttons. Press a button repeatedly to cycle through its assigned number and letters. Use this method to input the first letter of the MP3 file that you wish to play.

8. Press the "Enter" button to move to the next letter. Input the remaining letters. Press the "Enter" button to search for the MP3 file; playback begins as soon as the device locates the appropriate file.
